Even the Cleveland announcers were shocked that an E was charged. There is literally nothing he could have done except maybe keep his second hand on the ball but that would have meant he wouldn't be able to reach the runner. He is a back up catcher, now if our starting catcher wasn't an absolute ferry and capable of playing back to back days and wasn't a complete idiot behind the plate we wouldn't have to deal with our back up catcher playing more than he has this year. Posada also is easily the worst catcher in history of baseball in blocking the plate, if he was catching last night and not Frankie Choo would have easily scored when Gardner had a perfect throw that lead to an out. Again no Yankee thinks Frankie should be playing 120 games but since Posada has no heart and can't play with a little pain we have to have our back up in more than he should. As for the other aspect of not throwing anyone out, the Yankee pitching staff doesn't even try to hold runners on so it is no surprise that no matter who is catching they can't throw anyone out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
