Hisanori Takahashi apparently means "Cy Young" in Japanese

Hisanori Takahashi shut the Yankees down for the second straight time, tossing six shutout innings, as the Bombers fell to the Mets 4-0. Javier Vazquez notched another solid outing, throwing seven innings of one-run ball, but given the Yankees' latest offensive malaise that would wind up being all the Mets would need.

The Yankees have now scored a grand total of four runs in their last three home games, and a whopping eight runs in their four games against the Mets. I can't tell whether the Mets' pitching is flat-out awesome, or the Yankee offense is just utterly abysmal right now. Remember when the Yankees were invincible at home, and no lead seemed insurmountable? I miss those days.

We know they'll snap out of it soon enough, but it sure as hell doesn't make it any less frustrating, especially with Boston scoring six-plus in six of their last seven games and also pulling within one game of first place. I guess the Rays' simultaneous losing streak is somewhat comforting, but not by much.
