My beautiful wife is from Texas, and so we were married down in Houston last April. As per southern tradition, the groom gets a cake in addition to the regular wedding cake. This was my groom's cake.
So the take away is as follows: if you're a Yankee fan getting married in the south in 2010, make sure your groom's cake bears the Yankee insignia, as this will clearly result in a World Championship.
This was probably my favorite moment of the regular season. My family vacations in Cape Cod every summer, and we were deep in the heart of Red Sox land during the big four-game set at Yankee Stadium in early August. Though it seems like forever ago, prior to the beginning of that series the Yankees were still 0-8 against the Sox in 2009. This picture was taken at the culmination of the four-game sweep, which, in sending the team to a 6.5-game lead in the AL East, more or less secured the Yankees' AL East crown. Man were we ever pumped up.
Early Yankeeist readers will recognize this photo as part of my original logo design. This is as close to the Legends seats as I got this year, and it was taken during the eighth inning of a leisurely Sunday afternoon beatdown of the Orioles.

Me (and the rest of the bar) celebrating something awesome happening during Game 6 in my Hughes 65 name-and-number tee (purchased during the 2007 season, mind you, as soon as the damn thing became available).
