Hard to believe that, if the game starts on time tonight or even gets played at all, it will have been just shy of five full days since Yankee fans last watched a baseball game, and more than five days for Angels fans. I understand that kowtowing to the networks is vitally important to the sport's revenue stream, but MLB really needs to think about developing a contingency plan with TBS/FOX in the event that both first-round series end in sweeps.Instead of the ALCS potentially starting this past Wednesday, now we're looking at a potential rainout tonight -- although I imagine the Yanks will do whatever they can to get these games in on time, given the team's desire for three starts from CC Sabathia -- and the forecast isn't any better for tomorrow, which means the first pitch of this series could get pushed back all the way until Sunday night. Seriously rain, ruining an entire month of summer wasn't good enough for you?
In addition to constantly refreshing the pages of pretty much every Yankee site I read throughout the day, I'll also be following the weather here, as the last thing I want is to head up to the stadium and sit in freezing weather only to be told the game's postponed.
