Recap: Game 148 | Yankees at Mariners, Friday, September 18, 2009

Hard not to feel good about your team's chances of winning with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, bases empty and Mariano Rivera on the mound protecting a one-run lead. Two pitches later the Mariners stole away a victory. Frustrating as it was to watch -- it seems like these kinds of things always happen when I stay up to watch a west coast game -- you have to tip your hate to Ichiro.

I had a feeling Mo was due for a bad outing once Coney and Singy announced he'd converted 36 straight save chances. Better now than in October.
